Spurs Beat

November 23, 2016

San Antonio Spurs continued their win streak with a win Monday night over their IH-35 rival Dallas Mavericks.

What has always been considered a fierce rivalry throughout the years should have been a walkover for the Spurs as the Mavs have been bitten by the injury bug and lacked many of its star players.

Thus far this year they are 2-11 on the season.  Injuries or not the Mavericks had different ideas as they led throughout the contest until the final moments of the 4th quarter and the Spurs literally escaped with a 96 - 91 victory.

Seth Curry, younger brother of Steph Curry, was awesome as he put on a display of shooting keeping the Spurs faithful on edge with every bucket. According to Coach Popovich, "This was a pathetic performance on the part of the Spurs."

Kawhi Leonard led all scorers with 24 points and 9 rebounds.  The Spurs were coming off West Coast road wins against Sacramento and the Lakers.

Note:  LaMarcus Aldridge and Tony Parker did not play in the Dallas game.
