SAN ANTONIO (Dec. 15, 2016) – Residents interested in running for Mayor or City Council in the May 6, 2017 Municipal Election can purchase informational packets from the Office of the City Clerk, located on the second floor of City Hall, 100 Military Plaza. Candidate packets cost $30 and may be purchased during regular office hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Candidate packets are provided on a thumb drive and include election information such as filing procedures, state and municipal campaign finance regulations, state and municipal campaign advertisement regulations, an application for a place on the ballot, and a calendar of election-related events.
On Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, the Office of the City Attorney and the Office of the City Clerk will host a workshop for officeholders, candidates and individuals interested in learning about San Antonio’s Municipal Campaign Finance Regulations and E-Filing System. The workshop will cover Ethics Code Provisions as well as demonstrate the use of the City’s Electronic Campaign Finance Filing System.
