ST. PHILIP'S COLLEGE ANNOUNCES AUG. 9 OPENING CEREMONY FOR GOOD SAMARITAN VETERANS OUTREACH AND TRANSITION CENTER
SAN ANTONIO (July 31, 2017)---All are invited to attend the grand opening ceremony for the St. Philip’s College Good Samaritan Veterans Outreach and Transition Center in partnership with the City of San Antonio Aug. 9 at 8:30 a.m. at 202 Connelly St.
In December of 2011, the San Antonio City Council approved a partnership with the Alamo Community College District and St. Philip's College to repurpose an unused property into a veterans outreach center. The center team currently located within the college's Norris Technical Building at 1801 Martin Luther King Drive (HTTP://ALAMO.EDU/SPC/VOTC/) has provided personalized services to eligible veterans and their families in the interim years, with the expected 2017 transition to the stand-alone facility grand opening forecast for Aug. 9. At the 202 Connelly St. property, these consumers should expect to find a supportive environment for a bevy of referral services, job training, financial counseling, health and wellness, legal services, business start-up, and consultation on their educational options. All of these services will be provided at no cost to the client.
