SPURS BEAT

December 27, 2017

The last week produced a two win one loss record as the Spurs completed a three game road trip.  At Portland the team won a close one 93 – 91 on the backs of Lamarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol.  Gasol had a season high 17 rebounds. The Spurs were not as fortunate on the next stop as they succumbed to the Utah Jazz 100 – 89.

Although six players scored in double digits no one scored more than 12 points (Bryn Forbes).  Danny Green, Pau Gasol, and Manu Ginobili did not play in the game.  The last game of the road trip was a much needed win against the struggling Sacramento Kings who gave the Spurs all they could handle before losing to San Antonio 108 – 99.

Aldridge led the team with a game high 29 points and 10 rebounds.  Gasol returned to the lineup to score 14 points and grab 11 rebounds.

Notes:  Coach Popovich continues to monitor Tony Parker and Kawhi Leonards’ minutes as Leonard only played in the Utah game for 20:23 minutes scoring 10 points.  Parker has averaged 24 minutes in the last two games.
