The Spurs continued their winning ways with wins against Brooklyn and New York before taking to the road. The first leg of the three game road trip saw the Spurs fall to the shorthanded Detroit Pistons. The Pistons held the Spurs to their lowest scoring output of the season (79 points). The Pistons were without starting guards Reggie Jackson and Avery Bradley but were still able to hold its own against the Spurs starters. Spurs were without forward Rudy Gay.
The team just couldn’t get their offense rolling as they scored only 13 points in the first quarter. Leonard playing more and more minutes as time progresses (27:34 min), scored 18 points but had four turnovers. LaMarcus Aldridge had a double-double (15 pts. 11 rebounds) in the loss.
Note: The game against the Knicks saw the Spurs place six players in double figures. Leonard was inactive for this game. The team continues to strive to find its’ niche offensively with Leonard returning to the lineup.
