SPURS BEAT

January 31, 2018

January is concluding on a more productive note for the San Antonio Spurs as they have won 3 of its last 4 games. The team took on the Eastern Conference bigs Cleveland and came away with a 114 – 102 victory.  Dejounte Murray, starting in place of guard Tony Parker, played one of his best games in his young career scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 steals.

Next up were the Memphis Grizzlies on the road, a game in which Spurs leading scorer LaMarcus Aldridge sat out.  No matter as the Spurs placed 8 players in double figure scoring.  On their return home the Spurs met up with the Philadelphia 76ers who came calling at the AT&T center and ending a 13 game losing streak to the Spurs shocking the team with its victory.   Plain and simple, the 76ers outplayed the Spurs both offensively and defensively as the team could only muster 78 points to the visitors’ 97 points.

The Spurs concluded the week with a home win against the shorthanded Sacramento Kings.  Bryn Forbes would lead the team in scoring with a career best 23 points.

Note:   CONGRATULATIONS to LaMarcus Aldridge on his selection to this year’s NBA All Star team.
