SPURS BEAT

March 7, 2018

The Spurs are 2 – 8 in their last 10 games losing most recently to the New Orleans Pelicans and the Los Angeles Lakers, both home games.  After holding leads through most of the games, the Spurs could not close out either team. Both the Pelicans and the Lakers outscored the Spurs in the fourth quarter (New Orleans 34 – 21 and Lakers 36 – 21) after the Spurs held a lead through three quarters in both games.

The losses dropped the Spurs to the 6th spot in the Western conference after holding on to 3rd place throughout most of the season.

LaMarcus Aldridge sat out the 2nd half of the New Orleans game and did not play in the game against the Lakers due to a sprained right ankle.  Aldridge scored 8 points before the injury snapping a 59 game streak of scoring in double figures.

Notes:  Game against Memphis is being played at press time.
