After completing the regular season with a 47 – 35 record, the Spurs began the playoffs having lost 8 straight games on the road. Their last road win was a thrashing at Cleveland on February 25th. Not much has changed during the first two games on the road of the new season. Spurs lost both games to the defending champs Golden State Warriors, 92 – 113 and 101 – 116. Game one saw the Spurs outrebounded by 21 boards and no 2nd chance points in the game. LaMarcus Aldridge was limited to only 14 points but came back to score 34 in the game 2 loss. Spurs return home to the friendly confines of the AT&T Center for games 3 and 4 where they have an 11 game win streak. But again these are the playoffs and if the Spurs are to come back from a 0 – 2 deficit, they will have to hold home court and win on the road.
Note: A report by Yahoo! Sports on Sunday revealed that Leonard will not be available for the rest of the playoffs. Warriors are playing without Steph Curry who may return for the 2nd round.
