SPURS BEAT

January 9, 2019

The Spurs week was highlighted by the game against former Spur and finals MVP Kawhi Leonard. After his tumultuous final season as a Spur the fans were more than anticipating this match-up. Both organizations downplayed the matchup as just another game of 82. Kawhi Leonard came out aggressive but had a relatively quiet night. The fan base booed Kawhi on every single touch of the night from beginning to end. However, to the pleasure of all fans, the Spurs led wire to wire and finished with an 18 point victory. DeMar DeRozan had his first career triple-double against his former team.

The Spurs finished the week with a home win over the Memphis Grizzlies and a road win against the Detroit Pistons. Our recent success has been a total team effort along with the return of defensive play. We officially have played half of the regular season and are sitting in 6th place in the West (24-17). After a mediocre start the possibility of reaching the playoffs is within sight.
