The spurs wrapped up the 2019-20 preseason this past Friday with a 104-91 win over the Memphis Grizzlies at the AT&T Center. The team finished the preseason with a 2-3 record dropping the first three games to the Orlando Magic, Miami Heat, and New Orleans Pelicans. The team finished the preseason with two quality wins against a revamped Houston Rockets team that added Russell Westbrook and the aforementioned Grizzlies. Hopefully the Spurs build on that momentum as they enter the regular season at the AT&T Center this Wednesday, October 23 at 7:30pm against the New York Knicks.
The team has solidified its 2019-20 roster heading into the regular season by waiving Forward Daulton Hommes. This brings the roster to 17 players. Hommes, a 6’8” Forward, went undrafted in the 2019 draft out of Point Loma Nazarene University where he was the NABC Division II player of the year. Prior to being waived he was acquired by the Spurs in mid-August on an Exhibit-10 deal. Hommes appeared in 4 preseason games before being waived. It is likely he will wind up in the G-League with the Austin Spurs.
