SPURS BEAT

February 8, 2017

Not a great way to start of the rodeo road trip after coming up short against the Memphis Grizzlies. Playing without Kawhi Leonard and injured Pau Gasol, the Spurs probably played their worst game of the season against the Grizzlies. While the Spurs shot was not falling and the team was creating their own chaos offensively and defensively with turnovers and missed assignments, they scored a season low

74 points, scoring only 9 points in the pivotal fourth quarter when Memphis was able to pull away.

David Lee led the team with 14 points while LaMarcus Aldridge who played through foul trouble scored just 13 points and hauled in 10 rebounds in a losing effort.

Before the annual rodeo road trip the Spurs were coming off a 3 – 1 home stand losing only to Dallas but getting big wins against Oklahoma, Philadelphia, and Denver.

Notes: Leonard sat out Monday night’s game with a quad contusion suffered in the Oklahoma game.
