Spurs Beat

The San Antonio Spurs wrapped up a productive week with wins against Minnesota on the road, an homes games against Memphis and New York before starting this week with a big win against defending NBA champions Cleveland Cavaliers. The win against the Cavs was the start of one of the Spurs most challenging weeks on the schedule against five of the NBA’s top teams seeking playoff position.


The victory against the Cavs was the Spurs 5 th consecutive win and gives the Spurs the season series against Cleveland as San Antonio beat them handily earlier in the season. Kawhi Leonard led the team with a game high 25 points while both LaMarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol chipped in 14 points apiece.


The Spurs bench outscored the Cavs bench 49 to 24. Lebron James was held to 17 points before exiting the game late in the third quarter after taking an elbow to the back of the neck. Danny Green had 4 key blocks during the game.


Final score Spurs 103 – Cavaliers 74
