Did Grades Raise?

April 12, 2017

On February 23, 2017, the Fair Contractor Coalition addressed the City of San Antonio City Council in regards to violation of SBEDA Ordinance for local Small Women Minority and Business Enterprises (SWMBE).  A Japanese company ZOLL refused to sub-contract to Medwheels, a local SWMBE, located in the Eastside of San Antonio in a Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) area.

The Fair Contracting Coalition team attendance and participation is needed to champion our local small businesses.  The City Council High Profile Audit Review Committee will meet on: Date:   Tuesday, April 18, 2017, Time:   11:00 am, Location:  Old City Hall 100 Military Plaza (at Flores St), Media Briefing Room.  If you are interested in hearing how your elected officials are deliberating about this issue, please come and attend.

Additionally, The Fair Contractor Coalition met with CPS Energy.   CPS agreed to address the Report Card grade and their progress to work with the community at the April 25, 2017 FCC meeting.

Edwards Aquifer Authority & Texas A&M San Antonio have also initiated contact to improve their score with up coming meetings being planned.

The SA Observer is committed to championing our small businesses to be more involved with the agencies.  Please call 210-226-9041 for more information about the upcoming meetings.
