Excerpts from "The Historian, Psi Alpha Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc."
Look around . . . what do you see? Gloom, despair, social injustice - yet in all this God still reminds us there’s HOPE. Life (God) orchestrates many opportunities over to allow each of us a chance to make a difference in mankind and Hurricane Harvey is just another example of this divine intervention. Psi Alpha Chapter, San Antonio, TX is no stranger to meeting these types of challenges individually and collectively.
While just a few miles away our brothers and sisters of the great city of Houston is going through many uncertain:es, and we sit comfortably in our many blessings thankful it did not happen to us - let’s show some love and support for our fellow Texans. Psi Alpha Chapter, aka AlamoCityQues, led by Bro. Raymond Roscoe, Sr. volunteered to assist the San Antonio Food Bank (SA Food Bank) with preparation shipment of clothing, shoes, personal hygiene and many other needed items for the victims/displaced citizens of Houston. Brothers of Psi Alpha Chapter provided needed manpower to the SA Food Bank sorting, receiving donations, palletizing, packaging, wrapping goods or any other duties required.
This assistance is but a small portion of the greatly needed support for the Disaster Relief efforts for Houston and the entire Gulf Coast region affected by Hurricane Harvey.
Psi Alpha Chapter will continue to provide assistance through collection of clothing, baby diapers, water, non-perishable goods and other needed supplies along with monetary donations for the citizens of the Gulf Coast region. If you would like to support this effort, please contact the chapter via the website (psialphachapter.com) of your donation.
If you are not able to give of your resources (i.e. time, money or belongings), your prayers will be greatly appreciated. From the Psi Alpha Chapter and its members, we would like to say thanks San Antonio (and citizens) for all your support.
