The San Antonio Spurs welcomed back Tony Parker Monday night with a victory over their IH-35 rival Dallas Mavericks. Upon his return to the lineup, the Spurs trailed much of the first half before their decisive run in the third quarter to take the lead. Playing a total of 14.08 minutes, Parker scored 6 points and dished out 4 assists with no turnovers. Six players scored in double figures led by LaMarcus Aldridge’s’ 33 points and 10 rebounds. Kyle Anderson also had a double double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. The Spurs won 115 – 108.
Prior to that home win the Spurs embarked on a two game road trip defeating the Charlotte Hornets 106 – 86 but losing to the New Orleans Pelicans 107 – 90. After holding an early 1 st quarter lead, the Spurs shot a mere 29% in the 2 nd and 3rd quarters while New Orleans shot 58% to take the
lead for good.
Notes: Spurs head coach was not around at the end of the Spurs game against the Mavericks after being ejected in the second quarter for protesting a call against Kyle Anderson. Coach Popovich leads the league in technical fouls with four. This was his second ejection.
