SPURS BEAT

April 25, 2018

After losing game three at home and on the verge of elimination, the Spurs avoided being swept by the Golden State Warriors with an emotional win on Sunday.  Down 0 – 3, the Spurs, behind LaMarcus Aldridge’s’ 22 points/10 rebounds and the inspired play of Manu Ginobili (16 points, 5 assists); beat the defending champions 103 – 90 to stay alive. The Spurs shot 54% on three pointers and 46% for the game. With their backs against the wall the team must get their shots to fall on the road, eliminate turnovers as they did on Sunday, and play solid defense if they are to return to San Antonio for a game 6.   (Game 5 is being played at press time).

It will be tough to beat the Warriors twice on the road but again, these are the PLAYOFFS!

Note:  Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich did not coach the team during the home stand.  Our thoughts and prayers are sent to the family.
