Last week, the city of San Antonio celebrated its Tricentennial through Commemorative week – a week of events celebrating the rich history of our city. Councilman Shaw celebrated our tricentennial EASTSIDE STYLE!
He visited with first graders at Dorie Miller Elementary School as they were learning about San Antonio’s history and led them in singing “Happy Birthday” to San Antonio, complete with a big cake from our Eastside HEB.
He also spent some time doing fun STEM experiments with some kindergarteners at Carver Branch Library. They learned how to make slime and elephant toothpaste! It was tons of fun.
St. Philip’s College was designated as the official Eastside Tricentennial Celebration location. As both an HBCU and a Hispanic-serving institution, it was the perfect space to celebrate our city’s history. Councilman Shaw attended this official celebration on Thursday night. He was so proud of the talent displayed throughout the incredible evening.
