Downtown Streets Project Means VIA Bus Detours
Changes to downtown bus routes and bus stops will begin June 25 and continue for two years
SAN ANTONIO (June 18, 2018) – The City of San Antonio’s Transportation and Capital Improvements (TCI) department will begin a two-year street improvements project in the central business district onMonday, June 25, 2018, and changes to 12 VIA bus routes and bus stops in the downtown area will be in effect for the duration of the project.
The construction activity will impact travel on Commerce Street between North Santa Rosa Avenue and North St. Mary’s Street, and lane closures will also occur on Buena Vista Street/Dolorosa and West Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard between South Santa Rosa Avenue and South Frio Street. Service on the following VIA bus routes will be detoured during this time.

In addition to the route detours, several bus stops will also be affected by the downtown construction. During the construction period, VIA lineup service will be relocated to Travis Park.
