Students across Bexar County may apply to SAISD Choice Schools and Programs
(November 26, 2018) – Students both inside and outside the boundaries of San Antonio ISD may apply to the District’s Choice Schools and Magnet Programs beginning today for the upcoming school year. The application period for these specialized schools and magnet programs is Nov. 26, 2018 through Feb. 8, 2019 for the 2019-20 school year.

The District offers more than 20 specialized, non-boundary schools, across different grade levels, with diverse areas of focus and innovative methods of instruction. Students have the opportunity to pursue specialized instruction based on their individual interests and aspirations.
Offerings include early college high schools, dual-language academies, single-gender schools, an advanced learning academy, and the city’s only Montessori school. New in the 2019-20 school year are CAST Med High School, Cyber P-TECH at Sam Houston High School and Young Women’s Leadership Academy-Primary.
SAISD Magnet Programs are a fast-track to college and career, giving students the opportunity to earn up to 45 hours of college credit by high school graduation. The District’s Magnet Programs are tightly aligned to Alamo Colleges’ programs, and students earn the college credit through a mix of free dual-credit courses and Advanced Placement or the International Baccalaureate credit by exam.
