The San Antonio Spurs finally got a much needed win on Sunday against Western conference rival Portland Trailblazers 131 - 118.  The win comes after the Spurs suffered two blowout losses against the Minnesota Timberwolves 89 – 128 and a home loss against the Houston Rockets 105 – 136.  DeMar  DeRozan led the team with a season high 36 points followed by LaMarcus Aldridge’s 29 points in the win against the Trailblazers.

The Spurs are below .500 but are just 4 ½ games out of first place in a tough Western conference.  Only Phoenix has a worst record in the West.  The Spurs played one of their worst games of the season in the loss against the Timberwolves where no starter scored more than 10 points (35 pts combined).  Seven T-Wolves scored in double figures.  The Rockets committed only five turnovers and shot 41% in three-point shooting to beat the Spurs.
