City Council Voted and Art Hall is now Councilman of D2
After many interviews of hopeful District 2 candidates lined up to fulfill former D2 Councilman Shaw's term the decision was made. Art Hall became the interim D2 Councilman and was swore in last Thursday with a vote of 7-3. Councilman Hall previously was the former District 8 Councilman and now will serve as District 2 Councilman but will not run in May he told many sources and outlets. Legally, Hall cannot run in May per the City staff which Hall responded that he was not interested reported the Rivard Report.
One thing that is a fact and a part of San Antonio's African-American history is that Councilman Art Hall is the only African-American who has served as Council in 2 Districts.
The May election looks a lot like our next Presidential election in 2020 that is gearing up. There are many candidates vying for your vote, have you seen them or do you know who they are? That is a rhetorical question to understand that you are worth more than a bunch of signs plastering your street. Do you see candidates relate to you or even try to get their message in front of you? Keep your eyes and ears open, those who want your vote will find you and those who don't- won't. Next week we will take our first look at May's D2 election candidates beginning with Stephen Lucke and Jada Sullivan.
