The 2019 annual Rodeo road trip has not gotten off to a good start thus far. Playing one of its toughest schedules during this stretch, the Spurs have lost the first four games by an average of 21 points. Their lack of defense has been a worrisome issue that the team will need to correct if they are to savage any of the remaining games on the road.
The Spurs travelled to Golden State on the second stop of the current road stop. Playing without LaMarcus Aldridge, DeMar DeRozan, and Derrick White, the Spurs were outrebounded 52 – 30. In their game against Portland, the team fell behind by 21 points. DeRozan’s 35 points helped to make it a close one but they fell short to lose 127 – 118. The trip to Utah did not fare any better as the Spurs could not overcome the hot shooting Jazz losing by twenty.
Note: LaMarcus Aldridge will represent the Spurs as a reserve on Team LeBron in the All Star game. Game is scheduled for Sunday, February 17 at 6:00 pm CST (TNT)
