District 2 News

March 13, 2019

District 2 neighbors,

In honor of International Women’s Day, we want to take a moment to thank all of the women who have stepped up to serve on our boards and commissions and taken a leadership role in our neighborhood associations. Women are actively working to change the tide and tackle systemic inequities in the corporate world, politics, media and other social domains. We are grateful for the contributions fearless women like Barbara Jordan, Audre Lorde and Katherine Johnson have made to break the mold and pave the way for future generations. They motivate and inspire us all.

We also want to inform you that we are still accepting applications for the vacancies on seven of our boards and commissions, including Historic Design and Review Commission, SA2020 Commission on Education, San Antonio Public Library Board Trust, San Antonio Housing Trust, Parks & Recreation Board, Joint Commission on Elderly Affairs, and the City of San Antonio Higher Education Student Advisory Board. To find out if you meet the criteria to serve on a board or commission and to apply, simply click here.

With sincere gratitude,

Art A. Hall
