Sheryl Sculley, former city manager, is auctioning off the fiesta medals and gear she has collected over the years, 13 to be exact. All benefits will be donated to SAISD’s Young Women’s Leadership Academy.
The money will support funding for students to further their education, All bid donations will be personally matched by Sculley herself up to $10,000.00. All bidding opened March 31.
"Our young people of today will be tomorrow’s city leaders. These mementos from my career at the City are priceless, and I invite the community to take advantage of this fun opportunity to show their support of the Young Women’s Leadership Academy and their critical mission of preparing San Antonio’s girls for the future. Viva," Sculley stated.
Delia McLerran, principal of the Young Women’s Leadership Academy, said that Sculley exemplifies the leadership qualities the organization seeks.
"We’re so excited about her generosity and hope the public will take advantage of this fun, creative way to support our girls and their future," said McLerran.
Let’s start bidding! Over the many years Sculley tenured as city manager we did not see eye on many issues. Yet, when great things like this are being done credit is definitely due!
The fiscal agent for this undertaking will be the SAISD Foundation. Another perk is all bids are tax deductible.
