Brooklyn Gentry wins Little Miss San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO – (March 2, 2019) During the 14th Annual Little Miss/Mr. San Antonio Pageant held at the Marriott Westover Hills, Brooklyn L. Gentry, 6, competed to become Little Miss San Antonio.
The pageant consisted of each participant competing in the formal wear to vie for the San Antonio Division Title.
Little Miss/Mr. San Antonio is a natural pageant system that prides itself in providing a low cost and low-stress fun event.
According to the pageant’s website, the pageant is a natural pageant system therefore no makeup for girls five and under with no fake hair, lashes, tans, flippers, etc.
“I entered Brooklyn in the pageant for a few reasons,” said Bridgette Gentry, Brooklyn’s mother. “One was to help her with her shyness and two to expose her to other charitable outlets.”
Seventeen young girls competed with four being selected as semi-finalists.
“I couldn't believe she made the finals,” said Gentry. “I entered her to help her come out of her shell. She was on stage with pageant professionals. She acted as she had been doing this her whole life.”
When down to the last two finalists, Brooklyn remained poised.
“I was surprised,” said Brooklyn. “I felt good about it and I love the crown.”
This was Brooklyn’s first time competing in the pageant other than modeling clothes from a children's boutique.
