SPURS BEAT

April 3, 2019

The San Antonio Spurs had won 11 of 14 during its last run but only 2 and 3 in its last five games with wins against Boston and Cleveland.  They currently sit in the 7th spot and would play the Denver Nuggets if the playoffs were to begin today.  But in reality there is some basketball to be played and the Spurs must focus on just that.

They suffered a minor setback on Sunday in losing a rare home game against the Sacramento Kings 113 – 106, a game that Coach Popovich was ejected for protesting a call.  Spurs played a closely fought game but couldn’t overcome the hustle and timely shooting of the young Kings losing a heartbreaker down the stretch.  LaMarcus Aldridge led the team in defeat with 27 points and 18 rebounds.

Note:  The Spurs clenched its 22nd consecutive playoff spot.
