The San Antonio Spurs took to the road and returned home with a two game win streak. After being drubbed by the Denver Nuggets (113 – 85) on the first leg of the road trip, the team traveled East to face the Washington Wizards and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Needing to win both to stay in the hunt for the 6th or 7th seed, the Spurs won both games handily beating the Wizards 129 – 112 and Cleveland 112 – 90. Aldridge led 8 players in double figures with 24 points followed by four teammates with 15+ points in the Washington game. The Spurs led the majority of the game against the Cavaliers and were able to play all of its active players. Lonnie Walker IV scored 7 points in the win.
Note: The Spurs close out the regular season on Wednesday against Dallas at the AT&T Center. A win will help to solidify their positioning. The Spurs are battling Oklahoma City and the Los Angeles Clippers for the final three playoff spots. A win by the Spurs in their last home game and a loss by either OKC or LAC could move the Spurs to the sixth position. Spurs first round matchup could be Golden State, Denver, or Houston.
