U-Pass partnerships provide students, faculty, and staff
unlimited access to public transportation options for the summer
SAN ANTONIO (June 5, 2019) - As the summer semesters begin for local colleges and universities, VIA Metropolitan Transit reminds students of three higher education institutions that they have free, unlimited access to bus service anywhere in the agency’s service area.
The U-Pass is provided to students enrolled at Our Lady of the Lake University; enrolled students, faculty, and staff at the University of Texas at San Antonio; and enrolled students, faculty, and staff at all Alamo Colleges, including San Antonio College, Palo Alto College, St. Philip’s College, Northwest Vista College, and Northeast Lakeview College. Through partnerships with VIA, the students at these institutions are not required to purchase the U-Pass. Instead, they have free access to unlimited trips on regular bus service, anywhere VIA goes.
VIA’s U-Pass was designed to provide easy access to the bus system for college and university systems across the region, and helps address the challenges of growing student populations with limited parking space on campus.
VIA offers efficient, affordable travel options and provides modern passenger perks like free 4G LTE Wi-Fi on all its buses, instant access to the Bexar BiblioTech e-library for all riders, and several frequent and direct routes.
