'DO NOT ENTER SAN ANTONIO'- County Judge and Mayor Issue Public Health Emergency for San Antonio

San Antonio Mayor and County Judge Order State of Disaster and Public Health Emergency Amid Coronavirus Spread

 

County Judge Nelson Wolff and Mayor of San Antonio Ron Nirenberg issued a local state of disaster and public health emergency for San Antonio and Bexar County this past Monday (see below).

The city declaration will not allow anyone quarantined for the coronavirus at Lackland to enter the City of San Antonio until further notice, per the Mayor.

 

Nirenberg declared the state of disaster and public health emergency will last for 7 days, but the city council may continue the state of disaster by continuing it or renewing it.

 

Not long after, Judge Wolff followed suit and proclaimed his declaration, it also prohibits quarantined individuals to enter San Antonio and Bexar County's 26 other communities.

 

The Mayor has also prohibited entry into the city of previously quarantined individuals, travelers included.  

 

These declarations were spurred after it became known that an individual who is a coronavirus patient had access to the community for about 12 hours.  Within that time the individual
