Hello SAISD,

I know that we're all panicked and worried due to the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), but remember that SAISD is working on a plan. At this point, we are looking at students returning March 23rd unless this situation gets worse. If any of you have the internet and a computer, some teachers have posted some work in your child's Google Classroom. Then some of our students have email accounts from our SAISD, so have your children check them as well. I know that this is a trying time, but if we're able to follow the protocol of staying home, washing our hands, and not attending events over 50 people, we will get through this crisis. Parents, if you need breakfast or lunch, SAISD will be offering curbside pickup for students 18 and younger. So, parents' breakfast will be served from 8 am-9 am, and lunch from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, below is a list of the schools that you can pick up meals from during those times.

- Brackeridge, 400 Eagleland

- Burbank, 1002, Edwards

- Edison, 701 Santa Monica

- Fox Tech, 637 N. Main

- Highlands 3118 Elgin

- Jefferson, 723 Donaldson

- Lanier, 1514 W. Cesar E. Chavez

- Sam Houston, 4635 E. Houston

Lastly, we have some good news for our teachers and students. The Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, just accounted for that due to the closure of schools that he is waving the STARR'S testing for the 2019-2020 school year. This means that our students will not have to take the STARR tests this school year.  While this is excellent news for all of us, we have no idea how this will affect our students next year, especially those in high school. Parents, I know that this is a stressful time for all of us, but remember that SAISD is working on a solution. I want all of my SAISD parents to know that you're all in my prayers. If you have any questions, please email me at

Have a Blessed Week,
