Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are eyeing up a place in California, according to an insider, as the couple prepare for life outside the Royal Family.
Harry and Meghan have been living in Canada, with their son Archie, since announcing their shock exit from the Royal Family in January. However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to spend time in Meghan’s hometown of Los Angeles this summer. A royal insider spoke to PEOPLE this week, and said: “This is what Meghan and Harry have always wanted — to create their own life.
“It has got to feel like an immense relief to get out of the UK and go down their own path.”
Meghan Markle has a big support system in LA, including her mother Doria Ragland, who works as a social worker and yoga instructor.
She also has several LA-based friends who have been to visit the couple at their £14m Vancouver Island home.
A person in their friendship circle previously told PEOPLE: “They love being in Canada, but they are looking at houses in L.A. too.
“They’ll likely have houses in both places.”
Meghan once wrote on her lifestyle blog, The Tig: “I was born and raised in Los Angeles.
“I am a California girl who lives by the ethos that most things can be cured with either yoga, the beach or a few avocados.”
