Fighting Twin Pandemics from a Legal Perspective

For three months, it seemed like systemic racism, a social ill that has plagued our nation from its very formation, was inching closer to decimating the freedom and livelihood of the Black community for good.

From the unjust killings of innocent African Americans to the second wave of a global health pandemic, Black people have been getting attacked on all fronts. But with each attack on our lives, we know we have to fight back twice as hard – and so the NAACP has.

Despite all the turmoil, we won our Supreme Court case, NAACP v Trump, to allow DACA recipients to stay in the country, we ensured those responsible for the death of Ahmaud Arbery and George Floyd were arrested, and we’re still fighting to bring justice for Breonna Taylor. None of this would be possible without legal minds.

We know that no matter what we do, our fight against racial injustice must be both at the polls and in the courts.
